I am so grateful not only that you are a donor, but also that with all the charities to choose from, you choose to give to us.

Your support makes it possible for the men to rebuild their lives and for young people like Isabella Maxey to have life changing experiences.

Isabella, interned with us this Spring through the Sondheim Nonprofit Leadership program at UMBC Shriver Center. For her final project she made a video talking about her experiences at CCH and how her views of nonprofits and homelessness changed. I invite you to watch it here.

During her time with us, Isabella interviewed several of the men. Here is an excerpt from one of their stories.

Gregory experienced homelessness for ten years. He said it was an exhausting ordeal. Frustrating and very depressing. “I was on the streets, and I didn’t want to deal with people. I became angry and frustrated.

While at Earl’s Place one of his goals is to find permanent housing. He also wants to get his criminal record expunged. His goals after transitional housing are where he believes his destiny will take him next. Those goals include furthering his education, obtaining a nonprofit fellowship, and becoming a motivational speaker to educate young kids. He also wants to find a way to help elderly people.

Gregory met his goal of obtaining permanent housing. He moved into an apartment in West Baltimore last weekend. The apartments are managed by another nonprofit and house three other former residents. He will start classes at Baltimore City Community
